In our Baguazhang practice, we work with images and visualizations. They help us not only to understand movement and inner connections, but also to experience them physically. This reinterpretation of the Taiji symbol reflects that idea: body and mind are not opposites, but two sides of the same reality.
The landscape represents the material world. The spheres and flowing water reveal its non-material, spiritual dimension. At the center, both sides meet: the central sphere represents one of tens of thousands of spheres that together form our Shen field. The suggested DNA symbolizes its anchor point within the living body. Here, physical form and its spiritual counterpart come together – the sphere becomes the bridge between both sides.
The image invites us to look beyond the apparent separation of body and mind and discover their underlying unity. Not merely as a philosophical concept, but as something we can explore and experience through our own practice of movement, awareness, and stillness.
